  • Any attack on North Korea will have devastating consequences to the U.S. economy

North Korea is a dangerous nuclear state that threatens the security of the world, but eliminating that threat won't happen without consequences. In this video analysis, Mike Adams (the Health Ranger) explains how any attack on North Korea risks retaliation by Kim Jong-Un on its neighbors South Korea and Japan, both of which are crucial for supply chains that bolster the U.S. economy. Given that North Korea has dozens of nuclear warheads -- and an insane, cult-like leader who is obviously willing to use them -- it's a relatively simple strategic matter for North Korea to launch very short-range nuclear strikes on manufacturing centers or shipping ports of South Korea and Japan, obliterating those nations' ability to import raw materials or export finished goods to world markets (North Ame...

North Korea is stepping up its campaign to show leader Kim Jong-il healthy, after suffering an alleged stroke in August. Pictures of the leader inspecting two military units were released today. Analysts say that despite being in one of the world's most closed countries, many North Koreans have likely heard reports from outside media of Kim Jong-ils ailing health. The North's propaganda machine responded by saying he is active and in control of the communist state. North Korea's state-run television station says Kim inspected two army facilities, but didnt say when he made the visits. Kim appears to have lost little weight and has a full head of hair, even though some intelligence sources say he may have had brain surgery. Over the weekend, the North released photographs sh...

North Korea is a dangerous nuclear state that threatens the security of the world, but eliminating that threat won't happen without consequences. In this video analysis, Mike Adams (the Health Ranger) explains how any attack on North Korea risks retaliation by Kim Jong-Un on its neighbors South Korea and Japan, both of which are crucial for supply chains that bolster the U.S. economy. Given that North Korea has dozens of nuclear warheads -- and an insane, cult-like leader who is obviously willing to use them -- it's a relatively simple strategic matter for North Korea to launch very short-range nuclear strikes on manufacturing centers or shipping ports of South Korea and Japan, obliterating those nations' ability to import raw materials or export finished goods to world markets (North America and Europe, namely). Even if North Korea's missiles can't yet reach Seattle, Washington, they can easily reach Tokyo and Seoul. And that means any attack on North Korea -- no matter how justified -- risks devastating blow back that could cripple regional manufacturing and export centers, causing a wave of devastating economic impacts across the United States, a nation already on the verge of a devastating market correction and debt collapse. An attack could also lead to escalations of World War III, involving both China and Russia. Learn more at WWIII.news and NationalSecurity.news.

We’ll give you some inside perspective about what it is like to be a woman living under the North Korean regime. Surprisingly, things have relaxed a bit under the regime of their leader Kim Jong-un, and women are now allowed to have cosmetic surgery to appear more attractive and further their careers. Of course, this isn’t so much a leisure cosmetic practice, but more of an unofficial requirement frequently performed by unqualified people in unsanitary conditions. For those that prefer less invasive beauty methods, you might be surprised to know that despite proclaiming to hate South Korea, the beauty products from their greatest enemy are their absolute favorite. In North Korea, women are forced to serve in the military for seven years, but they are subjected to countless atrocities and receive very little actual training. In many cases, they do not even receive the nutrition that they need in order to remain in good health. Serving in the armed forces is just one way that women in North Korea are called upon to serve the regime, and they are forced to do some even more unscrupulous things that may shock you. You may think that women in the United States made a big deal about the love story in the movie Titanic, but for one North Korean woman that story gave her the desire and the courage to defect from North Korea. The Center for Global Development and The Paul H. Nitze School of Advanced International Studies present a Massachusetts Avenue Development Seminar (MADS)* on: What We Know About Health and Health Services in North Korea Little is known about health status and health services in North Korea. The reports that are published are often based on a small number of interviews about events from some years past (Amnesty International), or based on manipulated data (World Health Organization). The reports of defectors and increasing information from inside North Korea paints a picture of continued malnutrition, though less than the 1990s. Health indicators continue to deteriorate in North Korea. There are widespread infections such as tuberculosis, typhoid (and paratyphoid), and hepatitis, suggesting a collapse of public health infrastructure. Increasingly medicines are available principally in markets from private vendors. Hospitalization is common and requires gifts to doctors which may exceed 100% of the patient's monthly household income. Drug problems from locally manufactured methamphetamine is an increasing problem, and reports suggest it is widely available. The presentation will draw upon two recent papers: Determinants of Well-Being in North Korea: Evidence from the Postfamine Period, by Daniel Schwekendiek; and Mortality in North Korean Migrant Households: A Retrospective Study, by W Courtland Robinson, Myung Ken Lee, Kenneth Hill, Gilbert M Burnham. Featuring: Professor Gilbert Burnham Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health With Discussant: Roberta Cohen Brookings Institution Tuesday, April 5, 2011 12:00pm--1:30pm *The Massachusetts Ave. Development Seminar (MADS) is a ten year-old research seminar series that brings some of the world's leading development scholars to discuss their new research and ideas. The presentations meet an academic standard of quality and are at times technical, but retain a focus on a mixed audience of researchers and policymakers.

My wife was gave birth to my second daughter in April 2013, and the third daughter in May 2015, it was already spring. The weather is still rather cold for us people who came from tropical country. But in Pyongyang we already used to deal with heater problems too. In Pyongyang Maternity Hospital, I experienced several times water and electricity blackout, and like in many places in North Korea, the central heater don't work. The most different thing we saw (from my own culture) that those Korean women who gave birth in this hospital, none of them accompanied by family, even their husband. I was once told that this regulation is to keep the sterile conditions of the hospital. But I was allowed to enter the delivery room after my wife gave birth, and then accompanied her to the recovery room. We don't stay long in that hospital, on both childbirth process (the childbirth process of my second and third daughter), we only stayed at hospital for about 10 hours. We came in the morning and back home in the evening. Want to see daily life in North Korea? please follow my instagram account : http://www.instagram.com/jakaparker

Over the weekend, the North released photographs showing Kim watching a soccer match. Last month it said he was out in public twice, once to see another soccer match and to inspect a unit of female soldiers. But some of the undated photographs released by the North raise more questions about his health. Experts in the South say the pictures released in October of his visit to the women's soldiers were taken several months ago, well before his suspected illness. Japanese Prime Minister Taro Aso says intelligence sources indicate Kim may still be in hospital but is still in control of the state.
